This role port reports to the Plant Procurement Operations Manager. He/she will support the Plant Procurement Team and the Category Management Team on relevant Procurement activities, measures and operational activities in the execution of procurement strategies.

Performance areas: Cost Savings (SRT), Supplier performance, challenging of material & service specifications (demand management)

The overall goal is the best possible support of the BU Plant Procurement team to achieve the best cost position of the respective Business Unit plant.


Essential Functions:

  • Supports all relevant Plant Procurement Operations functions

  • Works in close conjunction and alignment with Business Unit Procurement Engineers

  • Assists on benchmarking efforts, should-be-cost analyses and business cases

  • Supports the BU Plant Procurement Lead in planning and monitoring

  • Creates, develops and accounts for tools and templates to simplify and streamline efficient communication between team members as well as efficient execution on all procurement-related tasks

  • Supports internal and external communication on procurement tasks and goals

  • Serves as help desk and support function on high yield procurement activities, e.g. supplier summits

  • Communicates with suppliers on operational topics and supports negotiations and RfQs/RfPs in close alignment with the BU Strategic Buyers and the Procurement Engineering (thresholds for responsibilities defined in PE process description)

  • Participates in supplier meetings as needed ???

Additional Plant Specific Activity:

  • Daily Processing of MRO Requisitions and Purchase Orders ( 300/month)

  • Management of open Purchase Orders and supplier delivery

  • Develops and leads on cost savings initiatives as needed?

  • Assist in monthly Self-Assessments (ASP) to ensure compliance with Procurement & Plant Policies?

?Basic Qualifications:

?High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution

?Minimum 2 years of previous procurement experience.

?Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

?This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. Green Card Holder), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

?Preferred Qualifications:

?B.S. in Business Administration, Economics, Supply Chain or Engineering from an accredited institution.?

?Minimum 2 years of previous buyer experience.

?Knowledge of procurement processes, especially purchase-to-pay (operational).

?Proficiency in data-minim and software applications.

?Excellent communication, negotiation, analytical and organizational skills.

?Customer oriented.

?Prior experience with MRO Procurement in a manufacturing setting


Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
