Laundry Aide REPORTS TO:
Housekeeping/ Laundry Supervisor METHOD OF PAY:
Hourly PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The primary purpose of the position is to perform laundry duties as required in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations governing the facility and as may be directed by the Housekeeping/Laundry Supervisor.
ROLE and
Responsibilities:
Collect and transport soiled laundry on a daily basis:
Sort residents' personal clothing from linens.
Sort dark colors from light colors.
Operate the washing process:
Spot clean to remove heavy stains.
Load pre-weighed articles into washing machines.
Unload clean laundry from washers into clean carts.
Then load the clean laundry into appropriate dryers.
Unload laundry from dryers, sort, and fold.
Deliver laundry back to floors daily in a timely manner:
Check the name on residents' clothing to ensure clothing is placed in the appropriate Ensure all areas of the laundry are clean at all times as directed by Housekeeping Supervisor.
Monitor all laundry equipment for proper operation.
Report any malfunctions to Housekeeping/Laundry Supervisor and Maintenance Supervisor.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED.
If no experience, you must be willing to be trained in the cleaning procedures necessary to maintain the facility in a manner above and beyond a standard level of cleanliness, sanitation, and safety at all times.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
