HOFT), is currently recruiting a Warehouse Administrative Assistant to work in our new distribution center in Midway, GA.
Hooker Furnishings Corporation, in its 99th year of business, is a designer, marketer and importer of case goods (wooden and metal furniture), leather furniture and fabric-upholstered furniture for the residential, hospitality and contract markets.
The Position:
We are looking for a Warehouse Administrative Assistant with excellent organization and customer service skills to assist with the administration of the day-to-day warehouse operations.
This detail-oriented administrative professional will ideally have previous experience in a fast-paced distribution environment.
Main duties include:
Serving as backup to shipping clerk with the following duties:
Checking in trailers and containers at the gate.
P Processing Bill of Ladings for TL and LTL shipments Ensuring accuracy of all shipping documents and that drivers receive proper documentation.
Compiling and maintaining all data records related to shipping activities in warehouse management system.
Review and correct errors in the packing list.
Working as the administrative liaison between HR and warehouse Helping HR manage checklists (new hire, benefits, and terminations).
Managing postings throughout warehouse Assisting HR with new hire paperwork and drug screenings.
Assisting with scheduling and set-up of benefit enrollments and safety orientations.
Maintaining employee training records.
Data entry and tracking of key performance metrics within the warehouse.
Greet and direct visitors upon arrival at the warehouse.
Candidates that will be a great fit will:
Have previous shipping or administrative experience in a warehouse environment.
Have strong written and verbal communication skills in order to communicate with all levels of organization via phone, email, and in person.
Be detail oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Be proficient in all Microsoft Office Applications.
Administration/HR Administration experience Maintain a positive attitude and willingness to help in other areas of the warehouse as needed.
Prefer working in a fast-paced environment with little down time.
Have a high school diploma.
