5 Midway, GA Midway, GA Temporary Full-time Internship Temporary Full-time Internship $10 an hour $10 an hour PURPOSE The Learners Today, Leaders Tomorrow Summer Student Work Program at Coastal Electric Cooperative offers rising seniors a chance to participate as a full-time Coastal employee during the summer.
The program introduces students to career opportunities in the electric cooperative industry.
This is a valuable opportunity for students seeking on-the-job training and expertise to sharpen their existing skill set and/or field of interest.
The successful Summer Student Work Program has proven time and time again to provide valuable work experience, socialization opportunities and skill development all while earning a salary.
Job Scope/Program Details Develop a general knowledge of the Cooperative.
Work with employees in departments such as Engineering and Operations, Human Resources, Safety, Customer Service, Marketing and IT performing basic work activities.
Every aspect of the Summer Student Work Program will be closely supervised and evaluated by a manager.
Students will be paid $10.
00 per hour and may work up to 40 hours per week.
Any hours worked over 40, within a work week, will be paid at time and half ($15.
00 per hour).
Work schedules will vary depending on the department in which the student is placed.
The work program is approximately 8 weeks with a start date of June 3, 2024 to July 26, 2024.

Must be able to work the entire 8 week program.
Except required by law, students will not be eligible to receive company issued benefit plans.
Students will be provided work shirts and personal protective equipment, if applicable.
Appropriate jeans or khakis is the dress code for inside positions.
Students working in field positions will need to provide their own 100% cotton jeans, belt, and suitable work boots.
All students will be required to present to the management team a final presentation covering the projects they were involved in during the work program.
Human Resources will work with each student on creating and finalizing projects for the final presentation.
Students will also be engaged in community service projects this summer.
Upon completion of the program and verification of acceptance at a college or technical school program of their choice, students will be awarded a $500 scholarship.
STUDENT WORKER REQUIREMENTS Students must:
Be at least 16 years of age.
Complete the 11th grade (must be a raising senior) and have a minimum grade point average of 2.

Operate all equipment in a safe and professional manner.
Be a responsible individual with reliable transportation to and from work Ability to read, understand, and follow procedures, rules, and regulations.
Ability to perform physically demanding activities while working outside in all conditions.
Must pass pre-employment screening (drug testing).
